Tryouts are held, and less promising players are cut. Coaches receive salaries, and there is an expectation that the teams they shape will win. In sum, there is a slight change in emphasis away from ecation and toward outright competition.

Little-league sports, by contrast, are fundamentally egalitarian institutions, inclusive, unselective and welcoming (at least in theory) of different levels of ability. An important question in US life: how to balance this wish to be inclusive with the need to maintain authentic competition and play to win? This is indeed an important question in all walks of life and in any country.

狹義的教育,主要指學校教育,其涵義是教育者根據一定社會(或階級)的要求,有目的、有計劃、有組織地對受教育者的身心施加影響,把他們培養成為一定社會(或階級)所需要的人的活動。

它的定義或許晦澀難懂,但它和我們息息相關,就存在於我們每時每刻的生活之中:我們從剛出生就註定和家庭教育脫不開關系,從學前班我們接受開始接受系統的學校教育,而當我們走出家庭和學校,社會教育繼續教會我們成長。可以說我們生活在教育之中,教育時時刻刻影響著我們,一個人接受教育的好壞或許會直接或間接的決定一個人的命運!

三.教育的形式
既然教育如此重要,那麼我們又可以通過哪些教育方式提升自己呢?主要有以下這么幾種方式:

正規教育
社會、群體或私人開設課程教育人們,通常是年輕人。正規教育比較系統完整。正規教育體系傳授理想或有價值的知識,但有時會出現濫用情況。

成人教育
終身教育或成人教育在許多國家已經非常普及。'教育' 還被看作兒童的事,成人教育經常 branded as '成人學習'或'終身學習'.
成人教育意義是負擔成人社會角色人所進行有系統持續的學習活動目的在促進知識、態度、價值和技巧上的改變。〈Darkenwald & Merrian,1982,P.9〉早期曾被認定唯一種掃除文盲,教導民眾基本讀、寫、算術技能的活動,逐漸拓展至因應技術變遷的需要而提升個人知識能力為目的。

技術教育

五. 教育的思考
關於目的的說法眾說紛紜,現在我們了解了教育的這些知識,通過了解關於教育方面的知識以及自己的一些親身經歷,我也產生了關於教育的思考。那麼教育究竟是什麼呢?教育按照我的理解,它就是一種教與學的過程,一種知識的傳遞與接收,一鍾對人內在潛能的激發,一種發現、認識自身的途徑,一種改變自生、社會與歷史的方法,一種雖然不是萬能卻萬萬不能缺少的,對人的發展起至關重要作用的方式與方法,教育的存在是為了個人與社會朝一個更好的方向發展,它是為了更好的未來而存在的。教育的形式可以有多種,人剛生下來受家庭教育的影響,我認為雖然遺傳對一個人的發展有著至關重要的作用,但教育的作用也不可忽視,尤其是家庭教育,人在幼兒時期所接受的教育方式,決定論了一個人的興趣、性格、志向······甚至決定了一個人的命運,人越小受到的外部作用的效果越明顯,隨著年齡的增長人發生著受外部環境的主宰、影響到影響、主宰外部環境的過程,一個人的成長過程就是由被動的接受到主動地改變甚至主宰自己命運的過程,教育的形式還有很多其它:學校教育、社會教育以及多種多樣的終身教育形式。

現在的社會是一個主張民主與公平的社會,可是社會上仍存在著不民主、不公平的現象,前段時間看到一則新聞:在某縣,作為中小企業的父母,只要年納稅超過300萬,孩子高考就可以得到20分的加分,看到這則新聞真的讓我心寒,難道一些掌握教育的機關有權利為那些所謂的有錢人開綠燈嗎?這就是所謂的教育嗎:置那些「窮孩子」的努力於不顧?這樣或著社會上類似的規則對他們公平嗎?人生來就有智力、家庭背景······的差異,而社會假如再用某種手段把這種差異更大化的話,那麼教育的意義何在?這些政策並不是一個、兩個人就能制定或者改變的,社會上普遍把教育的責任推向教師,這顯然是可笑的,政策上沒有一個真正民主的環境,家長對自己的孩子聽之任之,學校只是把升學率作為對一個老師評判的唯一手段,那麼老師做再多的努力又有何益?遲早會被這些現象付之一炬!教育不止是老師的事,也是學生的、家長的、政府的、社會的、生活在這個地球上的每個公民的事,只有大家齊努力,才能迎來教育的真正的曙光!
