Abstract
In the present study, the effect of
ascorbic acid (5 mM) on some physiological parameters and three hormones
(auxin, abscisic acid, salicylic acid) was determined under heat stress
(40 °C) in maize tolerant cv. (MAY 69) and sensitive cv. SHEMAL (SH) at
0 h, 4 h and 8 h. Heat stress reced total chlorophyll content (CHL),
relative water content (RWC) and stomatal conctance (gs) in SH but did
not lead to changes in MAY 69 at 4 h and 8 h. However, pretreatment
with ascorbic acid increased (CHL), (RWC) and (gs) in SH under heat
stress while it reced MDA content significantly in both cv. We also
observed that heat stress led to a rection in SA level but increased
ABA and IAA levels in SH, whereas it increased SA and IAA levels but did
not change ABA level in MAY 69 at 4 h. Furthermore, in SH, ASC
application under heat stress increased SA level and decreased IAA and
ABA levels at 4 h, but it had no effect on SA and ABA at 8 h.

2 根据文献的出处，到那个期刊的主页上找，有的期刊能免费从他的主页上下载，有的不能。
3 将英文文献的原题输入Google，直接搜索，有些能找到。网络在搜索英文网页方面是不行的。

专业书籍翻译成中文的就有不少，像《分子克隆》(Molecular Cloning)就有几百页。
一些一般的信息可试试联合国的一些机构，如粮农组织（www.fao.org)，对照其英文版和中文版。
另外，国内有一些专业期刊同时具有中文版和英文版，尽管其文章不完全对应，有的甚至相对独立，不称之为中、英文版，但很多文章是同时刊登于中英文版上的，如《中国科学》、《科学通报》、《自然科学进展》、《中国农业科学》、《中国水稻科学》等等，可上这些期刊的网站查询，有的需要用户名和密码，有的不需要。
